Boy With Down Syndrome Makes Friendly Encounter With Dog

Posted: Updated:

A new YouTube video that shows a gentle dog playing with a young boy with Down's Syndrome is going viral.

The clip features a Herman, three years old at the time, on a patio approached by Himalya, a comforting Labrador. The toddler looks uninterested when Himalya comes up.

Sensing the boy's resistance, the dog makes many attempts to play with Herman.

The pup then put its paw on Herman's feet before dropping her head in his lap.

Herman eventually starts to touch the dog, stroking her snout and pulling back her fur to reveal its teeth.

Herman's mother Ana and his two sisters posted the video. Ana said her son usually backs away from contact.

Herman is now five years old and lives La Plata, Buenos Aires.
