Elderly HOA president attacked during National Night Out event

Posted: Updated:

A night that was supposed to be about crime prevention ended with one man behind bars.

Richardson police confirmed 53-year-old Allen Wynn was arrested Tuesday for injury to the elderly after he allegedly pushed and hurt 73-year-old Martin Brady.

Both men were at a block party for National Night Out. Brady is president of the Owens Boulevard homeowner's association.

The men were arguing about an HOA disagreement. Police believe it is unfortunate it escalated to the point that it overshadowed the spirit of the event.

The National Night Out program promotes crime prevention, police and community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie. Officers visit nearly 200 neighborhood block parties in Richardson each year.

Wynn's bond was set at $25,000.
