Police search for suspect who murdered man at Carrollton bus barn

Posted: Updated:

Carrollton police are searching for a man who allegedly murdered his boss at the school district's bus barn.

Todd Edward Fenton, 48, was found dead inside the Carrollton – Farmers Branch ISD Service Center late Wednesday night.

Police said he was shot in the back and six shell casings, four bullet fragments and one live round was found on the scene.

Police are looking for Gerardo Alvarez, a long-time district employee. CFBISD said there was no record of dispute between Alvarez and his boss.

District officials said Fenton was the lead supervisor of the grounds keeping department and had been with the CFBISD for 15 years. It was not unusual for him to be at work late at night, they said.

Police said Alvarez was last seen driving a beige Mercury Cougar with license plate DC5 J438.
