FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) - A northern Arizona man has pleaded guilty in the death of his girlfriend's 2-year-old daughter.

Coconino County prosecutors say 26-year-old Jose Zenaido Acevedo pleaded guilty Friday to one count of second-degree murder and one count of child abuse.

The Arizona Daily Sun (http://bit.ly/1bGfM8z) reports that Acevedo faces up to 51 years in prison when he's sentenced on Nov. 26.

Acevedo was arrested in October 2012 after authorities responded to a report of an unconscious child at a home in Valle, south of the Grand Canyon.

Authorities say Acevedo was living at the home with the child and her biological mother. The woman left the girl in Acevedo's care while she worked.

They say the girl had injuries that included severe head trauma. She later died at the Flagstaff Medical Center.
