North Texas could host another Super Bowl

Posted: Updated:
DALLAS -

North Texas will take another shot at hosting the Super Bowl.

Six cities have reportedly put in bids for the game that will be held in 2018. Arlington is competing with Miami, New Orleans, Minneapolis, Indiana and Tampa.

Arlington hosted Super Bowl XLV in 2011.

The Dallas – Fort Worth area is considered somewhat of a long shot for the game since Super Bowl LI will be in Houston in 2017.

There were also several issues with weather and seating problems at Cowboys Stadium for the game in 2011.

NFL owners are expected to announce two finalists Tuesday and will vote on a winner next week.
