McKINNEY, Texas -

A home in McKinney's historic district caught fire and collapsed Monday night.

According to the McKinney Fire Department, the fire at the home in the 400 block of W. Louisiana Street was reported around 9 p.m.

Firefighters had to take a defensive approach because the blaze was so big. There was an "extreme level of structural involvement," the fire department said.

The house was 123 years old.

No one was home at the time and no one was hurt.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
