Allen homeowners plagued by break-ins and burglaries

Posted: Updated:
ALLEN, Texas -

Someone is vandalizing and burglarizing one Allen neighborhood.

For six months, residents have woken up to busted car windows and stolen belongings. In the last month, investigators say there were four burglaries on the same block all on September 24th and another theft days later.

Residents think they know who the suspect is, but Allen police don't have any physical evidence to make an arrest yet.

Surveillance video shows a man breaking into a truck in April. "The images are of poor quality, it is something for us to go on, but definitely not enough probable cause to obtain an arrest warrant," said Sgt. Marshall DeBlanc with the Allen Police Department. The homeowner says the thief got away with $3,000 worth of construction equipment.

"The idea someone would come in and mess with things on your property is just offensive," said Garrett Morgan who lives in the area under attack.

"I have a fear of the next step of them kicking in a door," said Marion Parker, a resident in the same neighborhood.

The man residents think is responsible for these crimes lives nearby and was arrested in July on an unrelated charge because the crimes stopped.

Residents filed police reports and complained to Allen police. They say only in the last two weeks have they seen more patrols on their streets.
