Family members say a woman who was shot and killed outside an east Atlanta restaurant on Tuesday evening was a mother of 10.  They tell FOX 5 Charlese Brooks was trying to break up a fight between two other women when she was hit by gunfire.  

The shooting took place at about 6:30 p.m. off of Bouldercrest Drive.  According to investigators, the shooting was the result of a fight outside of the Brick House Restaurant.  Police say the two women knew each other, and the suspect left the scene after the shooting.  

Brooks, 34, was hit multiple times and died at the scene, according to police.

On Wednesday morning, Atlanta police say 35-year-old Terri Williams turned herself at her attorney's office.  She is charged with murder and will be held in the DeKalb County Jail.  In a statement, her attorney said he believes Williams will be exonerated once the investigation is complete.

Family members of the victim tell FOX 5 Brooks, who is from Rex, Ga., had four biological children and had custody of six other children.  They range in age from 4-18.  The woman who owns the Brick House Restaurant tells FOX 5 Brooks was her cousin.  She says friends knew her as "Beasley" or "Ms. Atlanta."
