Dallas police say a suspected drunk driver slammed into two cars on Interstate 635 near the Dallas North Tollway early Thursday morning, killing what the victim's family says was his best friend.
Around 2:30 a.m. Thursday, Pramod Paul, 34, and another driver were standing on the westbound side of the highway after getting into an accident.
While they were on the shoulder, next to their vehicles, a car came barreling towards them.
One driver was able to get out of the way, but Paul got pinned between the two vehicles and was killed instantly.
Paul's family says the man who hit him was one of his best friends, 38-year-old Jerry Abraham.
The family thinks Paul may have called Abraham for help.
Abraham is still in the hospital with a serious head injury.
He is charged with intoxication manslaughter.
