Car vandalism strikes South Arlington

Posted: Updated:
ARLINGTON, Texas -

Neighbors in South Arlington are fed up after several months of car vandalism on their streets.

Now one thief has been caught on camera, stealing a truck.

Marqui Blaylock's surveillance video caught what appears to be a young teenager with a backpack boldly and slowly opening the door and climbing into Blaylock's truck. He rummages through it, then drives away. The truck was stolen from the 5900 block of Stone Meadow Court.

Police eventually found Blaylock's truck and had it returned to him.

"This boy should have been in the house somewhere. His parents, mom and dad should know where he is at all times of the night. I mean it's 3:50 in the morning and he's out here stealing my truck," said Marqui Blaylock.

Blaylock's neighbor Danny Beesley car along with several other neighbors have had their vehicles broken into. For Beesley, it was the third time in two years.

Arlington police said they are stepping up patrol in the areas where thefts have been reported.
