Donations stolen from Macomb church

Posted: Updated:
MACOMB, Mich. (WJBK) -

Donation money was taken from St. Isidore Church in Macomb Thursday night. The box contained little cash but parishioners are still feeling a big loss.

The donation boxes meant for St. Vincent DePaul were taken along with cash from votive candles that are lit up during prayer. No one is exactly sure how much money was taken.

"It depends how generous the people were. It could have been as little as 80 dollars; it could have been as much as 200 dollars," Ron Pakizer says.

The church may not have been the only target Thursday night. A business down the street was also robbed that night, although police have not yet said if they believe the two breakins are connected.

Meanwhile, the church is forgiving and is inviting the thief to come and get help, whether it is through financial or food support, or finding God.
