Kaufman Justice of the Peace facing trial permanently removed from office

Posted: Updated:

An ex-Kaufman County Justice of the Peace charged in multiple murders has been permanently removed from his office.

Eric Williams is awaiting trial for the murders of Mark Hasse, Mike McClelland and his wife Cynthia.

Investigators said Williams and his wife Kim planned the murders after McClelland and Hasse prosecuted him for stealing county computer equipment.

An appeals court upheld the theft conviction, clearing the way for Williams to be removed from office and the county to find a replacement for his JP position until the next election.
