Ex-Fort Worth firefighter arrested for child sex assault

Posted: Updated:

A former Fort Worth firefighter fired because he was arrested for harassing a woman, has been arrested again  - this time for child sex assault.

Haltom City Police say a woman came to them August 20, accusing Marquis Washington, 29, of having sex with her 13-year-old daughter.

Washington turned himself into police in late September for that charge.

He was also arrested late last year for online harassment. Police say he placed a fake sex ad on Craigslist using an ex's personal information.

Fort Worth court records show the 27-year-old woman went to police in December 2012 and told them she "...began receiving random text messages to her cell phone from men asking for sex...".

Police say the men told her they were responding to her Craigslist personal ad. She told police she didn't post the ad, which included her first name and phone number.

Police say the ad had four pictures of the 27-year-old woman wearing lingerie - pictures she says she texted to Washington while they were dating.

The affidavit says the sex ad appeared soon after the 27-year-old woman ended her relationship with Washington.

The affidavit says Fort Worth police were able to trace the ad to Washington's home. Police say his wife told them only the couple and their child lived in the house.

The suspect worked with the Fort Worth Fire Department for six months before he was fired.
