Metrorail to open 2 hours early for Army Ten-Miler

WASHINGTON, DC -

The Metrorail system will open at 5 a.m. on Sunday, October 20, for the Army Ten-Miler.

Riders traveling to the race should are advised to use Pentagon Station on the Blue and Yellow lines.

Metro will have additional trains on the Blue Line between Franconia-Springfield and Stadium-Armory between 6 a.m. and 8:40 a.m., and between 11:15 a.m. and 12:40 p.m.

On the Red Line, buses will replace trains between Silver Spring and Fort Totten stations beginning at 10 p.m. Friday, October 18, and continuing through system closing on Sunday.

Metrobus routes that normally operate to or from Pentagon Transit Center will temporarily be relocated to Pentagon City Station from the start of the service day until the Army Ten-Miler finishes around 1 p.m. Additional staff will be on hand at Pentagon City Station to assist bus customers.

The additional two hours of Metrorail service are funded through an agreement with event organizers.
