Gun advocates openly carry their weapons in Downtown Dallas

Posted: Updated:
DALLAS -

A group of gun enthusiasts meets every 3rd Saturday of the month at Dealey Plaza to exercise their 2nd Amendment rights.  The rally comes at a time when the right to openly carry long guns in Texas is being tested in the court system.

On Friday, a judge declared a mistrial in the case of a man who was arrested while carrying his AR-15 while hiking with his son in Temple.  His 15 year old shot cell phone video of the arrest that gained national attention for the case.

For those that continue to carry guns every month in Dealey Plaza, they hope to keep the government from taking away their right to bear arms.
