Dallas Cowboys snuff Eagles, leads NFC East

Posted: Updated:

With a 17-3 win over Philadelphia, the Dallas Cowboys are alone at the top of the NFC East.

Quarterback Tony Romo passed for 317 yards and a touchdown.

Cowboys kicker Dan Bailey broke the ice in the second quarter with a 38-yard field goal, putting Dallas up by 3.

The game's first touchdown came in the second half. Tony Romo connected with Dez Bryant for several yards setting up an easy 1-yard plunge into the end zone by Phillip Tanner, putting the Cowboys up 10-0.

Eagles quarterback Nick Foles left the game with a head injury after being sacked by George Selvie and Jarius Wynn on the final play of the third quarter.

In the fourth quarter, The Cowboys sealed it when Romo tossed a 9-yard TD pass to Terrance Williams to make it 17-3.

The Dallas defense, without DeMarcus Ware, shut down the normally high-powered Eagles offense finishing the day with three sacks and three interceptions. The Cowboys defense also held NFL rushing leader LeSean McCoy to 55 yards on 18 carries. McCoy was outplayed by Cowboys rookie Joseph Randle, who had 65 yards.

The Cowboys got their first road win and are 3-0 in the division for first time since 2007.

The 4-2 Cowboys meet the Detroit Lions, also 4-3 on Sunday, October 27th.
