Former Liberty Christian coach killed in motorcycle crash

The man many credited with building up the Liberty Christian School football program was killed in a motorcycle crash over the weekend.

Mark Bowles, 56, died Sunday after the accident on Interstate 35E in Corinth. Few details were immediately available, but investigators said he was not wearing a helmet.

He coached the Warriors for 26 years and during that time won three TAPPS state championships. He also served as athletic director before retiring in 2009.

Many at the school in Argyle said he will be greatly missed.
