Accused DeSoto gunman says he's sorry for shooting teenage stepson

Posted: Updated:
DALLAS -

A man from the Dallas suburb of DeSoto is apologizing for what he said was a crime of passion.

Richard Richard is accused of shooting at his estranged wife and teenage stepsons.

From the Dallas County Jail he blames marital problems.

His wife was grazed by a bullet and 15-year-old Corey Dooley was wounded in the chest, hip and back.

"I feel horrible. I love Corey. I've raised him for the last eight years ever since he was a little boy," Richard said.

When asked about reports that he seemed like a madman, Richard said he was just a jealous man.

He faces two counts of aggravated assault and one count of endangering a child.
