EAST HAVEN, Conn. (AP) - An East Haven man who has filmed what he says are security gaps in security at a middle school has been arrested.
Angelo Appi Jr. turned himself in to police Tuesday and was charged with breach of peace. He said he found gaps in security at Joseph Melillo Middle School twice in the past month.
Appi, a security specialist, posted a video showing that the front door was open when he arrived to pick up his daughter after school hours. He filmed himself entering the school and moving around inside unchallenged.
WVIT-TV reports that the school said the volleyball team propped the door open as players moved equipment.
Police Chief Brent Larrabee would not comment beyond confirming an investigation.
Appi posted his video scenes on Facebook, alarming some parents.
