Posted: Updated:

A former Arlington ISD elementary school principal has been convicted of attempting to solicit a minor online.

Stephen Paulsen, 54, was found guilty in federal court in Florida on charges from an arrest in July. His trial lasted four days.

Paulsen faced a charge of computer pornography child exploitation, traveling to meet a minor for unlawful sex act and transmission of harmful material to a minor.

Paulsen was arrested by Boynton Beach Police in July when he tried to meet up with the underage boy he thought he was talking to in an online social network. Paulsen actually was talking to an undercover officer.

Paulsen faces a maximum sentence of life in prison.
