KwanzaaFest is back on, just days after it was announced it would be canceled.
The Dallas-based event, which has provided free health screenings for more than 20 years, was canceled due to a lack of sponsors.
But sponsors stepped forward after those reports and said they would cover their own costs to make the event happen, according to a release on Friday.
"Good men and women called in flurries to join the hundreds of volunteers who make our vision a reality every year," the press release said.
More than 35,000 medical screenings happened at 2012 KwanzaaFest and more than 175,000 screenings have occurred at the event over the last five years, according to organizers.
This year's KwanzaaFest is scheduled to happen on Dec. 14-15 at Fair Park.
