A Somali gang kidnapped American Jessica Buchanan exactly two years ago.

On Friday’s Shepard Smith Reporting, Buchanan discussed the 93 days she spent in captivity, a harrowing ordeal she’s documented in a new book called, “Impossible Odds.”

Buchanan worried “every day” that she may not escape. “I mean the first fear is that it’s not going to end at all and then that you’re not going to survive and see your family is definitely what looms over you every second of the day.”

The 93rd day of her captivity started out just as every other day had when at two or three in the morning, Buchanan awoke to massive gunfire.

“The next thing I know someone grabs me and I think I’m being re-kidnapped by another group […] and instead it’s an American military, an American man who said, ‘Jessica, we’re here to take you home. You’re safe now.’”

It was members of Navy SEAL Team 6 who came to Buchanan’s rescue.
