A Dallas boy got hit by a 4-door white Ford pick-up with dooley's and
a flatbed trailer, and survived. It happened on Saturday between 1:30
p.m. and 2:30 p.m. in the 3000 block of Conroe Street in West Dallas.
Lorenzo Cantu's grandfather Oscar Andrade gave FOX 4 surveillance video of the heart-wrenching incident hoping someone will recognize the hit-and-run driver.
Lorenzo, 7, is expected to be okay. He has a broken leg and fractured arm, some bumps and bruises and a possible concussion.
Before his 7th birthday party, he was jumping on his trampoline in the backyard.
While his mother went inside to check on some food, Lorenzo can be seen on the family surveillance camera following his dogs across the street to a park.
The video shows him run out into the street and hit the front driver's side of the truck.
At one point, the video shows his dogs come back to circle Lorenzo in the street as if to protect him.
"I didn't want to leave him in the middle of the street so I picked him up and put him on the yard right there on the grass," said neighbor Gilbert Calvillo.
Andrade wants everyone to take a close look at the video to help with this investigation.
Lorenzo is in good condition and his family hopes he'll be home as soon as Sunday to they can really celebrate his 7th birthday.
