DALLAS -

A Dallas ISD teacher is charged with bodily injury to a child.

A student at Thomas Edison Middle school said Javier Valladarez kneed him in the back twice and choked him after asking friends for a piece of paper.

Joshua Flores, 12, said the incident happened Wednesday.

"He grabbed me like that, then put me in a head lock and then just dragged me to his office and just through me at the wall. I was scared and I was crying," said Flores.

Flores said he was leaving his mom a voice-mail when Valladarez grabbed his phone and put it in his pocket.

Part of that message made it through to his mother.

DISD said there is surveillance video of the incident and it's being reviewed.

Valladarez has bonded out of jail and faces anything from suspension to termination.
