A Dallas boy came home from the hospital Sunday, a day after a driver hit the boy, but didn't stop.
Surveillance video at his grandfather's house shows 7-year-old Lorenzo Cantu running across the street with his dogs in the 3100 block of Conroe Street in West Dallas Saturday afternoon.
When he ran back, he was hit by a pickup truck.
The driver kept going, leaving Lorenzo in the street.
The boy survived and came home Sunday to celebrate the 7th birthday he missed after Saturday's accident.
Lorenzo has some trouble walking because his toes were run over. But there were no broken bones, just bumps, bruises, cuts and scratches.
Dallas police say they are actively investigating the case, but family members tell FOX 4 they burned a copy of the surveillance video for police, who never called back or came to pick it up.
The family says the responding officers did watch the video on the DVR at the home Saturday.
Lorenzo's grandfather was able to blow up the pictures to get a better look of the truck.
It appears to be a white Ford pickup truck with four doors, dual tires on the back with fender flairs and a reinforced bumper on the front. It also looks like the there's a ladder rack that runs the length of the truck, and it was pulling a flat bed trailer that has what seems to be plywood.
Anyone with information should call Dallas police.
