Vampire facial: not just for Kim Kardashian

Posted: Updated:
NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

Kim Kardashian did it, and you can too: the vampire facial. It is also known as the blood facial. The idea is to draw your own blood, separate the protein-rich plasma, and then re-inject it in areas that need plumping to help rejuvenate the affected area.

Dr. Amiya Prasad, a cosmetic surgeon on the Upper East Side, says women in New York are lining up to get the procedure, which takes no more than an hour. It costs close to $1,000.

Doctors we spoke with say you can get the treatment done as many times as you like without harming your skin.
