School bus involved in Fulton Co. crash

FULTON COUNTY, Ga. -

Fulton County police are investigating a crash involving a school bus.  It happened on Old National Highway at Flat Shoals Road on Tuesday morning.

According to a spokesperson for Fulton County Schools, there were three students on the bus at the time of the accident.

Fulton County authorities say both drivers were taken to Atlanta Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.  A child from the vehicle was taken to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston with unconfirmed injuries.  A child from the bus was taken to the Hughes Spalding Children's Hospital with unconfirmed injuries.

The crash caused heavy damage to the front of the bus, and the SUV that was involved appeared to have nearly been destroyed.  

Police say the SUV crossed the center line and hit the bus. The driver of that SUV was cited for failure to maintain lane, according to Fulton County authorities. The driver's name has not been released.
