An eyewitness told FOX4 Duncanville police shot an unarmed man on Monday.
Duncanville police said two officers responded to a disturbance 911 call in the 400 block of Kelly Street on Monday. The police started chasing Clinton Peterson at some point and shots were fired that killed Peterson.
Shayanna Gallegos and her mother are friends with Peterson and witnessed the shooting.
Gallegos said her mom is the one who called 911. Shortly after, an officer on a motorcycle and another in a car pulled up next to Peterson. Peterson then backed away from the officers.
At that point, Gallegos said she started running toward the officers screaming "don't shoot" over and over.
"I'm halfway down the street and I hear one gun shot, but Clint's still running from him with his hands in his pocket and his back towards the cop," Gallegos said. "Next thing you know I'm already jumping distance between the cop and I hear one more shot and Clint instantly hits the ground."
Duncanville police didn't respond to questions from FOX4 about the incident and haven't said anything publicly since announcing the shooting on Monday.
The Dallas County Sheriff's Office is handling the shooting investigation and also didn't respond to questions from FOX4.
