CASA GRANDE, Ariz. (AP) - A 14-year-old boy who'd taken a family car without permission was killed and two other children were injured in a rollover accident in Arizona.
The Pinal County Sheriff's Office says the 14-year-old wasn't wearing a seatbelt and was ejected when the vehicle rolled Monday evening near Casa Grande, about 50 miles south of Phoenix.
The boy's 9-year-old brother and a 13-year-old female cousin also were in the car. They were hospitalized with serious injuries.
Sheriff Paul Babeu says the car rolled several times after the boy lost control. Babeu says the youth took the family car and that his lack of driving experience caused the crash.
Arizona issues driving permits starting at 15.5 years and licenses at 16 years.
