A wife is in mourning after her husband was the victim of a hit-and-run last weekend in Dallas. She's also angry because she said police won't be charging the suspect with anything more than an accident.
Hugo Soria, 33, was killed early Sunday morning as he walked near Masters Drive and Highway 175 in Southeast Dallas.
"My soul mate – he's gone and not because he got sick. He's gone because somebody killed him," Dara Soria, the victim's wife.
It's the second time she has had to deal with a death that happened in North Texas.
The Sorias were hit by a car during a 2010 trip to Dallas and Dara lost her unborn son two weeks before giving birth.
"That's why we come so often, to visit my baby's grave," said Dara, who lived in Mexico City with her husband.
Dallas police confirmed the driver who hit Hugo turned himself in at the southeast substation after the story aired on FOX 4.
Jose Guerra-Orta, 29, was arrested and charged with an accident involving injury or death.
Dara doesn't believe that's enough. She wants the charges upgraded.
Police have not yet commented on the arrest.
