Updated Sundance Square opens in Fort Worth

Posted: Updated:

The new Sundance Square opens Friday in Fort Worth.

Renovations to the square began last year. Two new office buildings were built and what was once a parking lot was turned into a plaza with landscaping, fountains and a pavilion.

"Absolutely paradise. Even if you didn't like Downtown Fort Worth, this is paradise, this is great," said Jean Crawford who visited the plaza Friday night.

New restaurants and shops have opened, including a cigar bar, Starbucks and Radio Shack's concept store.

Officials are now calling it an "urban living room" and a true "centerpiece of downtown Fort Worth."

A celebration for the reopening will last all weekend.

Families can enjoy live music and other activities including a Fort Worth Zoo animal show.
