Arboretum manager quits over alleged safety concerns

Posted: Updated:

The operations manager for the new children's garden at the Dallas Arboretum abruptly resigned after just two months on the job.

The arboretum confirmed Melissa Wright's resignation, but would not comment further.

On her personal blog, Wright said she values safety, security, fun and science, but found none of those things at the arboretum.

FOX 4 could not reach her for comment. On her blog she wrote he's done talking about the arboretum. But she urged "anyone who gave real money to the children's garden project to demand some accountability."

Terry Lendecker at the Dallas Arboretum said safety is a top priority and there have been no safety incidents at the Rory Meyers Children's Garden.

The popular addition to the arboretum has had more than 150,000 visitors since it opened in September.
