A store clerk is still trying to recover emotionally after being robbed and shot while on the job.
Jarred, who asked FOX4 not to use his last name, was shot in the arm and leg during an armed robbery on Sept. 2 at a Dollar General store in Garland.
Patrick Hooker, 22, has been indicted on two counts of armed robbery for robbing two Garland stores in one day just four hours apart. The store Jarred worked at was the second target for Hooker.
"I looked over at the door and these two guys came in with guns and they just told me they wanted the safe open and I told them I couldn't because of the time delay. So I told them would open the registers and they just started firing around us," Jarred said.
The shooting lasted 26 seconds and Jarred said he's still haunted by the incident. He's getting counseling and would like to return to work sometime soon.
"It's nothing you just bounce right back to, it really isn't," Jarred said.
