Firefighter allegedly shoots at children with BB gun

Posted: Updated:
FORT WORTH, Texas -

Police are investigating allegations that a Fort Worth firefighter shot several young children Sunday afternoon.

Ken Flowers, 60, was arrested on charges of injury to a child.

Witnesses told FOX 4 he came out of his house in the 7500 block of Little Rock Lane with a BB gun. He chased several children who had been sitting in his yard splitting Halloween candy.

One of the 11-year-old boys said at least two of his friends were hit.

"We ran because we didn't want to get shot," said Jermone Hobson who ran from the firefighter. "He said, sit down! Sit down! I'm going to kill you! I'm going to kill you," said Hobson.

The injuries to the boys were minor.

The Fort Worth Fire Department said Flowers is a 31-year veteran of the force. He is also a substitute bus driver for the Keller ISD.

He was placed on administrative leave from both jobs pending an internal investigation and the outcome of the police investigation.
