Two arrested after students brawl at Plano Whataburger

Posted: Updated:

Two teenagers were arrested after a massive brawl at a Whataburger on Friday night after the Plano West-Plano football game.

Video posted online shows students in a large circle fighting with each other the restaurant in the 6400 block of Coit Road.

Plano police said students usually gather at the Whataburger after high school football games, but there haven't been any issues.

Students on Friday gathered in the parking lot after the game and at some point a large number of them moved inside, which is where the fight occurred. A Whataburger employee who attempted to break up the fight wound up caught in the middle.

Both suspects arrested face charges for assaulting a public servant and evading arrest.

They have been identified as 17-year-olds Willem Walls and Jacob Hanzl.
