Dallas County jury deadlocked on punishment in HIV murder case

Posted: Updated:

A Dallas County jury is deadlocked in the punishment for a man convicted of killing a woman who was HIV-positive.

Larry Dunn, 37, met Cicely Bolden on a chat line in Aug. 2012 and had an affair with Dunn for several weeks before she revealed her HIV status.

Dunn pleaded guilty to killing her and the jury started deliberations last Thursday. The jury was considering whether the murder was a sudden crime of passion, which could have resulted in a lower sentence.

The judge told the panel on Monday evening to come back Tuesday morning and decide whether they can continue deliberations or not.
