IRVING, Texas -

An upscale two-story home was destroyed by a fast-moving fire in the Las Colinas area of Irving early Tuesday morning.

The fire started at about 5 a.m. in the 2000 block of Crocket Court, in the gated Cottonwood Valley neighborhood.

Irving police spotted the smoke and called the fire department.

No one was home at the time because the house was being remodeled.

The homeowner said the major renovations were supposed to be finished in time for Thanksgiving, but now it will have to be demolished.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
