A Dallas County jury sentenced a man to 40 years in prison on Tuesday for killing a woman who was HIV-positive.
Larry Dunn, 37, met Cicely Bolden on a chat line in Aug. 2012 and had an affair with Dunn for several weeks before she revealed her HIV status.
Dunn pleaded guilty to killing her and the jury started deliberations last Thursday. The jury was considering whether the murder was a sudden crime of passion, which could have resulted in a lower sentence.
The jury eventually sided with prosecutors who said Dunn had time to think and plan the killing of Bolden after she revealed her HIV status.
A friend who spoke during victim impact statements was blunt with her feelings.
"A part of me wants to hate you so bad. And I just told my sister back there, that if we were under a Moses law - I wish we were. So I could stone you. Stone you to your death," said Monica Mamon.
