BUCKEYE, Ariz. -

It looks like there's a new city in Arizona: Buckeye.

Unofficial results shows Buckeye voters agreed by roughly a 4 to 3 margin to accept officials' suggestion to change the town to a city.

Buckeye Mayor Jackie Meck says that by changing its designation, Buckeye will have a better chance to promote itself as a location for businesses and industry and bring new jobs for its residents.

When the final election results are finalized, the city council will consider a resolution at its Nov. 19 meeting to officially change the name to "city."
