Posted: Updated:

ATHENS, Ga. (AP) - The African Studies Institute at the University of Georgia is preparing for its annual conference on the continent and its diaspora.

The university says the three-day conference, titled "Africans and Globalization: Contents and Discontents," will be held from Nov. 13-15 in the Georgia Center for Continuing Education.

Featured speakers include Mamadou Diawara of Goethe University in Frankfurt, Germany, and Charity Angya of Benue State University in Nigeria.

This is the second Annual International Conference on Africa and its Diaspora at UGA. The first was held last November as part of the 25th anniversary of African studies at the school.

More than 100 papers will be presented by scholars from North America, Europe, New Zealand, the Middle East and Africa.
