New Sixth Floor Museum exhibit about Oswald's killing

Posted: Updated:

A new permanent exhibit at the Sixth Floor Museum features artifacts from the killing of Lee Harvey Oswald on display.

The museum in Dealey Plaza is all about the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, but for the first time put together an exhibit about the killing of assassin Lee Harvey Oswald a few days after JFK's killing.

Some of the items in include the camera that took the Pulitzer Prize winning photograph of Oswald being shot, the fedora Jack Ruby wore when he pulled the trigger, the tan hat and suit worn by detective Jim Leavelle and the handcuffs that he had on Oswald.

"Anytime we can put a three dimensional artifact on display that allows these photographs to come to life it's an opportunity for our visitors to really engage with history," said executive director Nicola Longford.
