PHOENIX -

It's a headline that dropped a lot of jaws and upset a lot of people. According to TMZ, actor Tom Cruise thinks his job is just as hard as the job of a soldier serving in Afghanistan.

The revelation was exposed in court paperwork. We spoke to a valley veteran who served oversees.

Tom Cruise is suing Life and Style magazine over some claims the magazine made regarding his daughter.

TMZ got a hold of some of the comments Tom Cruise and they aren't sitting well with many veterans.

During that deposition, a lawyer asked Cruise about comparing location shoots to soldiers serving tours in Afghanistan.

According to TMZ, Cruise said, "That's what it feels like. And certainly on this last movie, it was brutal. It was brutal."

"I am not an actor I am a soldier. I do not pretend for a moment to know what kind of skill or talent goes into developing Tom Cruise's craft and likewise I don't think he had any right to know what it is to be me," said Colin Day, Iraq veteran.

Colin Day served as a bomb tech in Iraq. He was injured and founded Honor Walk, a charity dedicated to helping veterans.

"Instead of comparing himself and the work that he does as an actor to a combat infantry man, a veteran, any service man or woman, he should just say thank you for defending the freedoms that I think, through his comment, he is obviously taking for granted."

Cruise made the comment during a deposition in $50 million dollar libel suit against a magazine.

"I think the best thing he could do is go pull a 15 month tour in Iraq or Afghanistan like I did. Let him live through a couple of 72 or 80 hours firefights. Let him shoot a couple of people, let his friends die in his arms. Don't eat for 80 hours. Then and only then can he make a legitimate statement like what he said."
