Fake officers stopped woman in Kennedale

Posted: Updated:

Kennedale police are looking for two men posing as police officers, after their cover was blown by a woman they pulled over.

The fake officers were good enough to make the victim believe they were the real deal.

But when she filed a complaint about her run-in with the imposters, saying one of them treated her rudely, Kennedale's police chief discovered it wasn't one of his officers.

Chief Tommy Williams says the fake officers pulled up alongside a jogger two weeks ago and asked her for her ID.

The jogger questioned the imposter and he got back in the SUV, and took off. She says he was chubby, had a double chin and had short, sandy blonde hair. There was another man in the SUV, but he didn't get out.

The woman told officers the SUV had the word "police" on it and the imposter was wearing a navy blue uniform.
