LOS ANGELES (FOX 11/CNS) - One person was injured when a vehicle crashed through a glass front door and into the lobby of a convalescent home in the Fairfax area of Los Angeles today, a fire department spokesman said.

The crash took place at about 2:25 p.m. at the Kennedy Care Center, at 619 N. Fairfax Ave., just south of Melrose Avenue, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Shawn Lenske.

No residents of the home were in the lobby or injured during the crash, Lenske said.

The driver was treated at the scene and transported to a hospital for treatment, Lenske added. The driver's current condition was unknown and Lenske said he didn't know if the motorist was a man or a woman.

The cause of the crash was being investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department.
