Incognito Speaks Out About Dolphins Bullying

Posted: Updated:

Miami Dolphins guard, Richie Incognito, sat down for an exclusive interview with FOX Sports this weekend. He says that he isn't a bully; he's actually one of Jonathan Martin's best friends!

He tells FOX Sports that he didn't know Martin was so offended! Incognito had a lot to say about allegations of bullying in the Dolphins locker room.

He claims that it was just the culture. And looking back on what he said, he wishes he could take it back. Incognito says that he's one of Jonathan Martin's best friends and always had his back.

He told FOX's Jay Glazer that he had "no idea" Martin was offended, and there were no signs the "locker- room atmosphere" was getting to him.

"If Jonathan Martin were sitting here next to you, what would you say to him?" Glazer asked Incognito.

I think, honestly, I think I'd give a big hug right now. Because we've been through so much, and I'd be like, ‘dude, what's going on? Why didn't you come to me?'" answered Incognito. "If he were to say, ‘Listen, you took it way too far, you hurt me.' I would just apologize and explain to him exactly what I explained to you…I never meant it that way."

After the bullying controversy exploded, Incognito claims he texted Martin and asked what was going on. According to him, Martin said that he wasn't leaking this information to the media, and didn't talk about it to anyone.

Incognito was suspended following the accusations earlier this month. Martin has since taken a leave of absence from the Miami Dolphins.
