A Fort Worth firefighter is accused of the stabbing death of a man in Arkansas.
Shea O'Neill, 40, is charged with second-degree murder in the death of 23-year-old Eston Hogue.
According to KATV.com, O'Neill told police he got into a car with a woman Friday near Hot Springs and he was suddenly hit in the head by two men who were hiding in the back seat.
He said one of his attackers took his gun away, so then he pulled out a knife and stabbed Hogue in self defense, police said.
However, police said O'Neill's story was inconsistent with the investigation and statements from the others in the car.
They believe he and the others had been smoking marijuana together. O'Neill and Hogue got into a fight while they stopped on the side of the road to use the restroom.
Hogue died from the stab wound to his neck.
O'Neill was treated at the hospital for injuries he sustained during the fight.
The Fort Worth Fire Department said it is conducting its own investigation, but would not comment further.
