ARLINGTON, Texas -

Arlington police found a missing 3-year-old girl safe with neighbors.

Police said Esther Nbegwa disappeared from her family's apartment in the 2200 block of Henderson Drive, near Highway 360 and East Pioneer Parkway, early Wednesday morning.

She was being cared for by her older siblings after their mother left for work at about 5:30 a.m. and before their father returned home at 6 a.m.

Police said after the little girl's father immediately began searching for her and called police.

Officers searched for her for about two hours. They were initially concerned about her safety because of the freezing temperatures.

They eventually found her unharmed inside a neighbor's apartment.

The neighbor told police he spotted her alone in the cold and quickly brought her inside while he tried to find her parents.

Police are still working to determine if any charges will be filed in the case.
