Texas company sells Sriracha bacon lollipops

Posted: Updated:

Lollipop makers in Austin are hoping to tempt taste buds with a new not-so-sweet combination – Sriracha and bacon.

The folks at Lollyphile said they got the idea for the new sucker after hearing about the lawsuit threatening to close Huy Fong Foods' Sriracha sauce plant in California.

"In the wake of recent terrifying Sriracha news (plant meltdown! Oh, no!), the coming holiday season, and our need to push the envelope of what candy is capable of doing," the company said on its website.

It's described as a "combination of two of the greatest things of all time -- Sriracha & Bacon, candied salty spicy peppery porky goodness."

Lollyphile has already had success with other novelty flavors such absinth, breast milk, blue cheese and a variety of wine and spirit flavors.

The company believes this latest creation will catch fire too.
