ROMEO, Mich. (AP) -- A 26-year-old man has been ordered to stand trial in the beating death of his girlfriend's 2-year-old son.

Romeo District Court Judge Dennis LeDuc on Wednesday bound Ronald Dimambro over to Macomb County Circuit Court on felony murder and first-degree child abuse charges in the slaying of Damian Sutton.

Damian suffered head injuries on Aug. 21 in Washington Township, about 30 miles north of Detroit.

Dimambro was babysitting Damian at the time for the boy's mother, Nicole Sutton. The toddler died six days later.

Dimambro will be arraigned Nov. 25 in Mount Clemens.
