The tallest building in downtown Dallas will officially turn on its famous green lights again Thursday evening.
In July the Bank of America Building began a project to install a modern LED light system. The 72-story building has been around since 1985 and its argon light tubes were not very energy efficient.
The new system is capable of multi-colored light displays, but the building's owners have assured the iconic emerald green will remain in the Dallas skyline.
Thursday's relighting ceremony will begin at 6:30 p.m. It will be followed by a 20-minute light show every hour Thursday night until 11 p.m.
After that, special colors will only be used on holidays and special occasions.
